At Physioplus, we form an integral part of your local healthcare network and have solid links with local G.P.s and Consultants. Patients may refer themselves to Physioplus or be referred by their G.P or Consultant.
We’re easy to find, located on the Timahoe road in Portlaoise. As Chartered physiotherapists, our services are recognised and covered by all private health insurers (VHI, BUPA, QUINN etc...) and can be claimed against Tax relief.
Meet Our Team
Jennifer McKittrick – a graduate of both Dublin City University (DCU) (BSc. (Hons.) Analytical Science) and University of Ulster (BSc (Hons.) Physiotherapy), Jennifer lives locally in Timahoe, just outside Portlaoise. With a substantial knowledge of numerous techniques and qualifications including Myofascial Release techniques, KINESIO Taping, various Manual Therapy techniques, Jennifer is well placed to treat every aspect of modern Physiotherapy. She has also worked with many sports teams and athletes at every level right up to senior inter county Gaelic football teams and some of Ireland’s leading jockeys. She is a keen student of Iyengar yoga.
Alison Wellwood - from Ballinakill in South Laois, Alison is also a graduate of one of Ireland’s leading Physiotherapy and sports science Universities, University of Ulster (BSc (Hons.) Physiotherapy). Alison has substantial experience in treating people using various methods of Physiotherapy right through to teaching Pilates classes and practicing acupuncture. Her qualifications include a Licentiate in Acupuncture from The College of Integrative Acupuncture. She is a Pilates Instructor and has trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (A.P.P.I). From a sporting perspective, Alison has worked in the US with athletes to International Olympic standard and also represented Ireland in Volleyball at senior level. She is an active member of the local triathlon club Trilogy in Portlaoise, Co Laois. |
